Easy Tips on how to Deliciously Enjoy your Memorial Day

We are pretty sure that you will be firing up the barbecue this Memorial Day weekend; so here are some of our tips on enjoying your day off!

1. Lemonade is not just for kids you know. Whether you make it for just the adults by spiking it with your favorite liquor or adding fresh fruit puree; like strawberry, kiwi or raspberry, for everyone to enjoy, this sweet drink will be a nice refresher in between long grill side conversations.

2. Our wonderful fruit filled pocket pies are great little pick-me-ups as you are waiting for your food to cook. Plus, it's the same great taste of a regularly sized pie, but with the convenience of being hand held and mess free! You can order them in blueberry, apple, pear cranberry, raspberry, peach almond, or cherry.

3. Fresh fruit salad. Everyone loves a nice refreshing slice of watermelon and pineapple while they are soaking up the sun. If you have no time to cut each and every piece of fruit, stop by your local grocery store, pick up some containers of precut fruit and mix them together. No one will have to know!

4. Last but not least, our angel food cakes! Our top flavors for the weekend would have to be S'more's; a vanilla cake filled with graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate chips and topped with a ganache, buttercream, graham cracker squares and mini marshmallows; our Mixed Berry cake; which is layered with blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. Or even our classic Strawberry Shortcake is always a crowd pleaser and will go great with some of that left over fruit salad.

Mini Crash Course on Pot de Crème

What is Pot de Crème?

Well to put it simply, it is a traditional french custard made of eggs, egg yolks, cream, milk and rich chocolate or vanilla. While other places thicken their puddings with corn starch, here are Angel Heart Cakes we use only the best eggs, cream and chocolate and have turned this traditional custard into a decadent dessert. Whether on it's own, paired with one of our lovely cakes, topped with fresh seasonal berries, frozen into popsicle molds, added to a trifle or even with a batch of homemade whipped cream, the possibilities to do something extraordinary with on container are endless.

Try our traditional Pot de Crème today because a little Angel Pudding goes a long way.

Your New Favorite Healthy Snack

As much as we love our sweets, we also love to keep it healthy. So along with our wonderful cakes and other assorted goodies, we also offer homemade granola. It's rich in omega-3, antioxidants and protein; it's made of flax seed, oatmeal, dried cranberries, dried apricots, almonds and has a hint of maple syrup.

There is so much you can do with granola; you can eat it right out of the bag if you are on a hiking trip, you can add a little milk and enjoy it like cereal, or you can throw about a half a cup into your favorite chocolate chip recipe.

Our favorite way to enjoy our lovely granola is to take your favorite greek yogurt, add a handful of the granola and drizzle a little honey on top. It is a quick and simple breakfast if you are someone who is always rushing out the door in the mornings. Or if you are craving a late night snack, try throwing some chocolate chips for an extra dose of sweet and you won't be feeling guilty.

Whether you are trying to eat a little healthier for breakfast, or adding a little kick to your favorite cookie, you can't go wrong with our satisfying granola.

Because we Love Kids!

This morning we had mini cupcakes as far as the eye could see! But what else could you expect when it's Bring Your Child to Work Day?

Strawberry on top and S'mores are the bottom.

They sadly left as soon as we had finished making them, but we know that the kids won't be the only ones excited for these little guys.

Also, we had a lovely order from a mother to her son today. She lives in Ohio and he works in Redwood Shores, but not even being miles apart can let this mother forget her son's birthday.
Malt ball, lemon blueberry, lemon poppy seed, mint chip and lemon curd cupcakes.

And if those stories weren't sweet enough for you, today's flavors are: orange chip, strawberry, lemon curd, lemon blueberry, expresso chip, mint chip, and lemon poppy seed. So stop on in, we'd be delighted to serve you up something tasty.
